This was my first game I worked on for UVa’s Student Game Developer club. Jeff Gaither, the project director, had created an engine for a platformer-shooter that runs on the Nintendo DS. The main character, Chief Watzon, carries a bazooka that he fires directly upward. The player must time their shots so that the bullets land on enemies on the ground.

Since Jeff had completed most of the game’s engine by the time I joined, I focused on design, art, and quality assurance. I drew the icecubes and cliffs that Chief Watzon can jump on in the game. I also designed a few levels, developed the boss AI, and performed quality assurance.
